I work as an independent AVIGuk advanced supervisor and trainer. I have participated in large VIG projects including training NSPCC Social Workers and currently active in many perinatal services. During these current unprecedented times I offer supervision mainly online and have also undertaken clinical VIG with parents' online with a good outcome.
I am currently supervising students and delivering tutorials on the CYP-IAPT course linked to Manchester university for Greater Manchester Mental Health trust.
I work alongside the team currently setting up the new learning management system as a membership manager.
I also undertake family risk assessments, working alongside a Social Work colleague, focusing on the attachment relationships both parental (reflective functioning), and children, CARE-index, narrative story stems, watch wait and wonder. I have studied Infant Mental Health at the Tavistock and Portman in London on their M9 course and gained a post graduate diploma in Infant mental Health.
I am passionate about VIG and the hopefulness of the model in situations sometimes which are described as hopeless by many, I have been both moved and privileged, at times, to witness and share parents hopes and wishes to change their current situation with a positive outcome.
