Karen Cowburn, Practitioner
Prior to joining For Baby’s Sake, Karen worked for 17 years within a Women’s Refuge on the Fylde Coast supporting women and children to break the cycle of abuse. This work incorporated empowering women and children to regain control of their lives through both practical and emotional support in a collaborative manner with partner agencies within the community. Karen completed her Nationally Accredited Women’s Aid Domestic Abuse Practitioner’s Award (DAPA) whilst in this role. Karen also has an extensive history of supporting vulnerable adults with complex mental health needs resettle back into the community in a semi-independent living setting on discharge from hospital.
